Intelligent Hover Board for Visually Impaired
The objective of this project is to help unsighted people to commute in a new place without the help of another in a faster pace with comfort. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that there are 285 million visually impaired people worldwide. Among these individuals, there are 39 million who are totally blind. The ability to commute in an unknown environment is a drawback for blind people in professional and educational societies. There are several systems designed to support visually impaired people and to improve the quality of their lives.
Unfortunately, most of these systems are limited in their capabilities. The purpose of the devices is to help the visually impaired people to have a safe and comfortable travel in a closed environment. Even the autonomous vehicles have gained popularity in other countries. The cost of those vehicles is tremendously high. Moreover, there is need for a vehicle to give the driving satisfaction to the blind. Hence, our product will have an intelligent hover board which composed of a smart stick and it is perfect for people with visual disabilities to travel more safely. Our model consists of various sensors and techniques to detect the obstacles. Thus, the person with visual disability can move freely without other help.
